iPhone 13 Pro Does Not Fit The MagSafe Duo Charger, But It Still Charges

Apple’s new iPhone 13 Pro will go on sale tomorrow alongside the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, and iPhone 13 Pro Max and while they might all be very similar in a number of ways, the iPhone 13 Pro is different in one important one — it does not fit too well on the MagSafe Duo charger.

According to Spanish blog La Manzana Mordida, one of its readers received an Apple leather case for the iPhone 13 Pro and decided to see how well it fit the MagSafe Duo charger.

And, basically, it doesn’t.

The issue is that the iPhone’s camera bump gets in the way of the charger, preventing it from laying flat on the surface that would normally make contact with the phone. That could be enough to stop wireless charging from working at all in some instances or movement, but we’ll need to wait and see to be sure.

One option might be to take the iPhone 13 Pro out of its case of course, but that’s less than ideal. The iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 will work because of their smaller camera bump, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max is so large it’ll have the additional surface area needed for everything to work just fine.

Marques Brownie has tested this with the iPhone 13 Pro both with the case and without the case, and the MagSafe Duo appears to be charging the phones, and attaching well to the phone. However, the gap and tilt still remain which is inexcusable for a premium charger.

For now, we wait. People will begin receiving the iPhone 13 Pro tomorrow and, we have to imagine, begin testing their charger with it. Especially after today’s news!
