Gurman: Apple Will Announce At Least One New Mac Next Month, More In May Or June

Apple will announce at least one new Mac next month during the event that we now expect to take place on March 8, according to a new report.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, writing in his weekly Power On Newsletter, says that while there could be just the single Mac being announced in March there are still more to come.

According to Gurman, there will be “another round of Mac releases around May or June” which will obviously come after the March event. We’re expecting multiple new Macs to make their debut this year and while it isn’t yet clear what order they will arrive in, there should ultimately be a new Mac for most people before 2022 draws to a close.

As for which machines could get a refresh in March, Gurman points to the M1 MacBook Pro and M1 Mac mini as two potentially imminent updates.

Given that two of the oldest Apple Silicon Macs in the lineup today are the entry-level MacBook Pro and Mac mini, I’d guess that those models will be next to be upgraded.

Beyond that, a new iMac Pro, MacBook Air, and possibly a new 24-inch iMac are also expected to get their updates this year. New M2 chips are expected to be announced as part of the March refresh, too.
