Apple’s New mini-LED iMac Pro Now Rumored For June Release

Apple will announce its new iMac Pro in June according to a new report by display analyst Ross Young.

We’ve been hearing of a new 27-inch iMac of some sort launching this year with at least some rumors saying a spring timeframe was likely. However, Young believes that iMac to be a new iMac Pro with mini-LED screen technology and a June release window.

MiniLED iMac Pro could launch in June. Some observers said no MiniLEDs, but we hear around 1000 zones and over 4000 miniLEDs.

Apple is strongly rumored to have new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro machines set to launch this year with new M2 chips inside. The new iMac Pro will use Apple silicon but it still isn’t clear whether that will come in the form of the same M1 Pro or M1 Max chips we’ve seen, or something new.

If Apple is indeed going to ship a 27-inch iMac Pro it seems likely that we will not see a replacement for the standard 27-inch iMac, leaving only the 24-inch machine available for those who want to buy a desktop Mac with a display built in.

Apple’s 2022 is already looking set to be a big one with new Macs, iPads, and iPhones just the beginning. Rumors continue to swirl that Apple will announce a new mixed reality headset as well, although that could potentially be bumped to next year depending on which reports you believe.
