New photos have emerged on the Internet today that claim to show the rear casing of Apple's next-generation iPhone. The leaked component is purported to be an official rear casing directly from Apple's iPhone 6s production line.
Xiaomi may be one of the largest smartphone vendors in the world, but recent spotlight on the Chinese company has seen it drawn into the copycat saga that has dogged Apple and Samsung for quite some time. The Beijing headquartered company is well known for producing relatively high-end smartphones, amongst other items of consumer technology, for seemingly budget prices, but the company has been accused of copying Apple's software and design elements in a number of its Mi device. Hugo Barra, an executive at Xiaomi, doesn't see what all of the "copycat melodrama" is about.
Apple is reportedly planning to introduce an Apple SIM-like solution for the iPhone lineup, and is already in talks with various cellular carriers to make it happen. That's not all, it appears that Samsung is also part of these talks looking to bring an e-SIM solution to its own Galaxy lineup of devices.
The all-new iPod touch 6 is definitely a remarkable device, given the significant upgrade Apple has packed into its iOS-based portable media player. 2015 is expected to be an extremely busy time for Apple, especially for new hardware releases. In addition to introducing and revealing the new iPhone 6s in the fall, the Cupertino company is also expected to introduce a number of new iPad tablets before the year's end. If a new report coming out of Taiwan is to be believed then it looks like fans of Apple's 9.7-inch iPad could be left disappointed with suggestions that the iPad Air may not welcome in a third-generation device until 2016.
As expected, Apple has today flipped the switch on the launch of its new 2015 range of iPods. Apple last paid attention to the iPod touch with an update back in 2012, so today's announcement will come as a fantastic surprise to those who want in on the iOS and Apple Music party without parting with a ton of cash for an iPhone or iPad. In addition to bumping up the iPod touch's specifications, Apple has also introduced cosmetic changes to the iPod nano and iPod shuffle for those who want portability with minimum outlay.
Speculation regarding Apple's upcoming iPhone 6s is starting to come through thick and fast. We now well and truly find ourselves in the middle of that exciting, and sometimes frustrating, period where new visual and technical specification leaks come out of the woodwork from those who claim to have "familiarity with the situation." We can already be fairly confident that Apple's iPhone 6s will come with Force Touch capabilities, as well as being offered in a new color option that has been described as either Rose Gold or Pink, so naturally, those Chinese clone manufacturers have jumped immediately onto the bandwagon and produced a $200 clone of the iPhone 6s complete with the speculated new color option.
As part of the continuation of the current-generation Mac OS, Apple has just released the first OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite beta to registered developers. This latest progressive seed of OS X Yosemite comes just two weeks after Apple made OS X 10.10.4 available to the general public and follows hot on the heels of the latest developer preview of OS X El Capitan. In terms of OS X development, this could be the last update for Yosemite that we see before the next-generation of OS X, El Capitan, hits the Mac App Store with global availability.
As we have continued taking steps toward a future that well and truly embraces the "internet of things" it has become extremely evident that voice activated personal assistant apps and services are going to be here to stay. We've seen the progression of Google Now within Android Lollipop and recently witnessed Apple introduce a smarter, more Proactive Siri as part of its iOS 9 updates. Now, potentially due to the stability of the digital assistant arena, it's being reported that Facebook is set to take on Siri and Google Now with its own digital assistant software, codenamed "Moneypenny".
