iHome’s HomeKit-Compatible iSP5 SmartPlug Now Available

Oliver Haslam·August 14, 2015
When Apple announced HomeKit, its iOS framework for controlling smart devices around the home, such as thermostats, door locks and lights, we expected to see every accessory maker under the sun rush to get accessories out the door. As it turned out, Apple's own inability to get all of its API ducks in a row have hampered the release of hardware, but that is starting to come to an end. One of the devices first outed at January's CES - the iHome iSP5 SmartPlug - is now available to buy.

Questionable iPhone 6s Benchmarks Show iPhone 8,2 With Just 1GB Of RAM

Paul Morris·August 14, 2015
If you've been patiently waiting for the iPhone 6s with the hope of receiving an upgraded iPhone that's packing significantly more power, then you might want to take the next few weeks to gear yourself up for a potential disappointment. A screenshot that is purported to be from a benchmark test ran directly on the iPhone 6s is currently doing the rounds on the Internet and reveals something that could ultimately be a major kick in the teeth for Apple fans; a relatively paltry 1GB of memory. Or to put it another way, the same amount of RAM as the current iPhone 6 model.

Paul Morris·August 12, 2015
Have you ever stopped to consider what would happen if Apple moved away from its traditional iPhone design and attempted to bring back the old-school clamshell design that used to be so popular with feature phones? Martin Hajek, a designer with a passion for "visualizing the future in 3D", has taken on what he describes as a "fun" side project to imagine what an Apple flip phone would look like if Jony Ive was tasked with bringing an Apple branded clamshell to the market. Carry on reading after the jump to see the designer's insane, but strangely beautiful flip phone concept.
