Another batch of iPhone apps are, apparently, about to get the axe. Reports are popping up around the net, that "cookie cutter" type apps are starting to be pulled from the App Store. This would include RSS apps, and photo gallery type apps. Any app that just packages an online service, and doesn't offer any other functionality.
Wow! What a grand platform, and what a great way to debut the first of iPad commercials. Steve couldn't have a better event than a glamorous Oscars night, which is full of high-profile celebrities to wrap off iPad’s first public commercial. Steve Jobs himself was also present at the event when the commercials went Live.
An awesome new theme, for jailbroken iPhones has been announced, over at the iPodTouchFans forums. It is a full UI theme, mimicking that of Apple's newest device, the iPad. It is currently in public beta, and is close to being released.
As you may or may not know, Apple has begun removing all WiFi stumbler apps from the App Store. Well, one developer, Aspecto Software, has turned to the dark side, to get their App out there. "WiFiFoFum", is now available for free, in Cydia for jailbroken iPhone and iPod touch.
The updated O2 UK iPhone plans has added “video calls” in their list of “Key Features”, hence strongly suggesting that the next-gen iPhone will support video conferencing of some sort come this June. The said option can be seen in the screenshot below, or on the O2 UK site here.

Apple has made it to the victory stand of the Fortune’s “World’s Most Admired Companies”, and that too consecutively for the third year in a row. According to Fortune’s report, in the 2010 edition of their annual ranking of "World's Most Admired Companies", Apple Inc. is at the top of the list for the third year in a row, and by the highest margin ever in the ten-year history. Other giants like Google, Berkshire Hathaway, Johnson & Johnson, and Amazon are in the tow of Apple as per the rankings given in the survey. Microsoft could only manage 11th spot.
Most of you I am sure by now would have read about the lawsuit which Apple has filed against HTC for its alleged involvement in infringing 20 iPhone patents in US. Talking about the lawsuit, Steve Jobs said.
Well it looks like iPad will allow you to make emergency phone calls in the time of need. According to GumballTech’s finding using the latest iPhone 3.2 SDK for iPad, if you incorrectly enter your passcode for 5 times consecutively, iPad brings up a screen with slide to emergency call just like the one found on the iPhone.
According to sources at AppleInsider, Apple is preparing Mac mini’s for Hi-Definition HDMI output along with a possible Blu-ray drive option; set to release sometime this year. Prototype screens of the new Mac mini has been making rounds which surprisingly sports a HDMI connector instead of the traditional DVI-connector found on the current models of the mini’s.
