Apple has just released a new ad that shows off the "harmony" throughout its ecosystem that's thanks to iCloud. The ad opens with a user choosing to use iCloud upon configuring a 4S. A set of sequences then begin where the user performs an action on their iPhone 4S, and it shows up on their other Apple devices.
While we all sit in anticipation, calendar watching until the reported Apple media event in early March to finally see what technical goodness the new iPad 3 will hold, we have to make do with the rumor mill offerings which as we all know could prove to be totally accurate or could be as far removed from reality as is humanely possible. When it comes to speculation and conjecture, the iPad 3 has been no different to any other Apple hardware launch, with the world wide web buzzing on a daily basis with new reports on what we can expect next month.
When Apple announced Mac OS X - sorry, we don't use the 'Mac' designation now, do we? - 10.8 Mountain Lion last week, we were all taken aback slightly. Well, all of us except the lucky few who found themselves summoned for a private briefing with Apple SVP Phil Schiller that is.
There are approximately half a million babies born across the world on a daily basis, bringing joy to their family and those around them. But out of those half a million which are born everyday, maybe only one or two of them will go on to not only change their parents’ or guardians’ lives forever, but will actually change the world. Steven Paul Jobs, born February 24th 1955 in San Francisco, California was one of those newborns who was destined to bring about change in the world and boy did he fulfill his destiny.
As the days and week progress, it would seem that the ongoing legal animosity between Apple and Motorola will continue to grow and cause disruption not only to both companies but also to their customers. This time, it is the turn of German users of Apple’s iCloud and MobileMe push services to suffer, thanks to a patent lawsuit which is currently going through proceedings between the two companies.
It's proving difficult to prevent Apple enthusiasts from compiling their video tributes just now, and just a day after the Steve Jobs Facebook Timeline tribute, Adweek has pieced together a rather interesting timeline of its own, covering every single iPhone ad campaign since the initial device was released back in 2007.
It would seem that Apple are on a solo mission to single-handedly conquer and dominate every market that they choose to enter. I am pretty sure they could take any mediocre product, apply their own engineering magic, then slap an Apple logo on it and turn it into massively saleable item all around the world. Their unique attention to detail, design and marketing seems to ensure that every product they release achieves huge success time and time again.
Unless you've been hiding away for the last week or so, you will have caught the coverage of the upcoming iPad 3's Retina display - all-but confirmed thanks to a discovery of the new and improved part by MacRumors.
This post could easily just be an embedded YouTube video alongside just one word - "WOW" - and that would probably suffice. That said, we like to offer a little more insight than that here at Redmond Pie so here goes.
February seems to be the month of the iOS security bugs. And although we are fast approaching the end of the month, yet another flaw has been found which allows the passcode lock feature to be circumvented, giving unauthorized access to the device’s Camera Roll. Users have the option of setting a four digit passcode through the Settings menu which prevents the device from being unlocked without the necessary code being entered, but, it seems that this method of security in iOS is anything but flawless.
