Windows 11 Might Be Announced At Microsoft Event On June 24

Microsoft could be getting set to announce Windows 11, depending on how you read a new tweet by Microsoft’s Panos Panay.

According to that tweet, Microsoft will hold an event on June 24 that will see something announced – and there are a few hints that Windows 11 could be the big deal.

People can already register to be part of the event via the link in the tweet and with the image shared almost appearing to have an “11” shape in it, people are assuming Windows 11. And they should – Windows 10 has been around for almost six years at this point and it’s beginning to show its age. Much of what lies beneath the Windows 10 desktop is Windows 7 and older, so it’s high time we saw something new.

Another indication that something good could be around the corner is a quote from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. He’s on record as saying that this is set to be a big day.

According to him, Microsoft is set to unveil “one of the most significant overhauls to the personal computer operating system this decade.”

What that will look like, we don’t yet know. The event will take place on June 24 so we’ll just have to wait and see. Maybe more information will leak, or be teased, before then.
