LG Pokes Fun At iPhone 6 Plus Bendgate Using… Twitter For iPhone [Screenshot]

Apple’s new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are barely out, and akin to the famous Antennagate that plagued the iPhone 4 when it was revealed, these two have sprouted a new debate over the “Bendgate” fiasco as it is being called. In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last few days, Bendgate essentially refers to the iPhone 6 Plus getting bent under pressure, or, in some cases, just by being kept in the pocket for extended periods of time.

LG G Flex Android Smartphone Self Healing Tech Demoed In Official Video

The smartphone industry is one contested closely, and fine margins exist between some of the market's premier devices. Thus, each vendor looks to grab the attention of the consumer with every new model, piping on whichever innovative new feature they can dream up. Sometimes, these features are useful, but often, they equate to little more than a gimmick, serving the purpose of getting people to talk about said product.

The LG G Flex Smartphone Can Literally Flex And Bend! [VIDEO]

It seems rather strange to design and manufacture a smartphone called the G Flex and then not advertise anywhere that is has the ability to bend and flex. It's perfectly understandable not forcing your consumer to put unnecessary pressure on the device and attempt to bend or flex it beyond its physical capabilities, but when the unique selling point of a product is its curved form it seems like a missed opportunity to promote that fact. LG, for some reason has decided to not openly advertise the G Flex's malleable properties, although it has been proven that consumers can manipulate the frame of the device if they see fit.

LG G Flex Curved Screen Smartphone Gets Hands-On Video And High Quality Shots

LG’s upcoming G Flex smartphone has been making rounds in the news lately a lot, with things going as far as rendered images of what the device’s curved display might look like. After all, the device is rumored to compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Round - another device with a curved display. However, this is a first that we’re going to see a hands-on video and high-quality actual leaked snapshots of what might be the LG G Flex, owing to Telefe getting their hands on an actual device for an in-studio hands-on video, as well as TheVerge getting high quality leaked shots courtesy of journalist Federico Ini.

LG G Flex Press Renders Leak: Features A Mighty 6-inch Top To Bottom Curved Display [IMAGES]

People may, rightly or wrongly, accuse the smartphone market of being a little on the stale side. Six years in since the market was turned upside down by Apple when the original iPhone was announced, it's arguable that not a great deal has changed since then. Yes, we've got 4G handsets and yes, they're blazingly fast when compared to the original iPhone and the HTC G1, but they essentially look the same and the form factor hasn't changed a great deal either.
