While the rumored launch is tomorrow, some retailers are already selling the white iPhone 4 ahead of time. One lucky Italian folk has been able to grab his from H3G store in Italy.
This whole sordid affair started when I was (un)fortunate enough to spy a blog post at TheAtlantic by Alexis Madrigal, the site's Senior Editor. In his lengthy post Alexis (you don't mind if I call you Alexis do you?) waxed lyrical about the impending apocalypse thanks to a piece of software called Lantern. This OS X application allows a user - obviously malicious - to gain access to an iOS device and browse all the data it's been collecting on its unwitting user. Such scary information includes the photos you've taken, where they were taken (thanks to the location information stored inside it. Yes, that's the information you told it to save when you first opened the Camera app) and your SMS history. Your Safari browsing history is also available.
Since I'm a frequent Google Maps and Foursquare user, I keep my GPS set to on at all the times. We all know how sucky that can be towards the battery but I'd get really sick of turning GPS on and off manually each time I had to use either of the apps.
With all the screaming and shouting about the iPhone's penchant for collecting data on its user's location, PC Mag saw fit to reach out to various players in the mobile market, namely Nokia, RIM, Google, HP and Microsoft. Only one replied, the always-willing-to-blow-their-own-horn Microsoft.
President Obama is a tech enthusiast and known for his love for BlackBerry. However, he was a little heart-broken since the BlackBerry didn't get the security clearance for the White House. Mr. President, last month, also admitted that he owns an iPad despite the fact that he believes iPad is a distractive device.
We're going to put this out there from minute one - we've no idea whether this is legit or not, but it sure looks like it.
Google's Android mobile operating system could be about to score a massive new group of users, if Wired are to be believed. The claim is that a new wartime smartphone is being tested by the US Army, dubbed Joint Battle Command Platform.
It's all kicking off these days with what seems like the whole internet, nay they whole planet going into meltdown over the fact the iPhone and even Android phones are tracking our every move. Thankfully however not everyone is jumping on the hysteria bandwagon.
After breaking years of exclusivity with AT&T, Apple now looks forward to join hands with yet another carrier: T-Mobile. BGR has leaked a set of photos featuring iPhone prototype to be sold with T-Mobile. The internal model is N94 while the one on Verizon is N92 and the standard GSM one is N90.
The current iPhone buzz is all about the white iPhone 4 and the latest word on the street comes courtesy of 9to5Mac who have exclusive screenshots of Best Buy's inventory screen which point to an April 27th release.
