Refreshed iPad Pro Could Arrive Next Month, iPad Air 4 With A14 And USB-C Coming In 2021

With so much focus on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro launches coming next month it’s easy to forget that Apple sells plenty of other devices, too. Two of them are set to get new refreshes, apparently, with the first being a new iPad Pro as soon as next month.

That news comes via Chinese website MyDrivers, with a new iPad Pro said to be coming in September – potentially alongside a new Apple Watch and iPhone announcement. Although, unfortunately, those iPhones won’t ship until October at the earliest as confirmed by Apple.

The most interesting news, however, is the iPad Air 4. According to the report we can expect it to take a leaf out of the iPad Pro’s book, not least by making the switch to USB-C for the first time. The use of four speakers and a new 11-inch screen rounds out the changes.

Specifically, the iPad Air 4 is said to be equipped with an A14 processor and an 11-inch Liquid Retina display. It is available in 128GB, 256GB and 512GB versions. It also provides a USB-C interface (following the iPad Pro series, The second iPad product with a new connector), 4 speakers, etc.

The arrival of Apple’s A14 processor in the iPhone 12 lineup will also apparently mean it will be used in the iPad Air 4, although it’s possible it will be a slightly tweaked variant.

The iPad Air 4 rumor does match some we’ve seen before, but it’s been a while since MyDrivers has been the go-to source for leaks. It cites “foreign sources” this time, so we’ll see how accurate they turn out to be.
