Zoom Is Arriving On Amazon Echo Show, Facebook Portal, Nest Hub Max

Zoom has become a company that everyone has heard of over the last few months thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, and privacy concerns aside, it’s a pretty good way to keep in touch with people for both work and play. And now it’s coming to more and more devices, according to the company.

Not content with using Zoom on your phone or computer? No problem – Zoom is coming to the Amazon Echo Show, Facebook Portal, and Google Nest Hub Max.

  • Available in September, Zoom on Portal support will give users the ability to use its Smart Camera to automatically keep them in the frame during calls. Support for Portal Mini, Portal and Portal+ is all included on day one.
  • Alexa customers will soon be able to join Zoom video conferences from some Echo Show devices, but not all. Zoom will be rolling out to Amazon Echo Show devices in the U.S. later this year, beginning with Echo Show 8. Support for the other Echo Show devices is presumably coming eventually, too.
  • Zoom is also coming to the Google Nest Hub Max, providing high-quality Zoom video meetings for those with Google’s smart display. That also includes integration with Google calendar as well, making it easy to create new appointments and whatnot.

While Zoom is adding some support now, it’s clear that the company will be rolling the feature out to more and more devices over time with some not getting in on the act until the end of 2020. But Zoom fans will be pleased regardless – its addition to these kinds of smart displays puts it on a par with more popular options like Skype and Google Meet.
