Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses Get New Styles, AI Updates, Video Calling Features

If you’re yet to pick yourself up a new pair of Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses you’re in luck, because now is your chance to do it with a number of new styles on offer.

The company has also announced new AI features and video calling within WhatsApp and Messenger.

The new frame styles are designed to offer more options that will better fit more faces, with the idea likely being that it will allow more people to find a frame that suits them better.

But it’s the new AI features that are most interesting.

Meta says that users can now have their glasses access real-time information based on what they can see.

We started testing a multimodal AI update in December, so you can ask your glasses about what you’re seeing, and they’ll give you smart, helpful answers or suggestions. That means you can do more with your glasses because now they can see what you see. Starting today, we’re rolling this functionality out to all Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in the US and Canada in beta.

As an example, Meta says that anyone reading a menu in French will be able to have it translated for them using Meta AI and without first having to get their phone out and use an app.

The new update is rolling out now and those who already own a pair of Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses can download it for free.
