AppSwiper For iPhone Brings A Whole New Dimension To Closing And Managing iOS Apps [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·August 18, 2013
iOS has seen quite a few changes over the past few iterations, but while some, such as iMessage, have been every bit the success, other implementations feel somewhat unfinished, and it's fair to say that the multitasking feature is a prime example of this. The process of killing apps in iOS 6 makes us wonder whether Apple indeed intended to make things as cumbersome as possible, but joining the growing list of tweaks to help enhance this feature is AppSwiper, a new entry to the Cydia Store that turns the system on its head.

Apple Opens Replacement Program For Mid-2011 27-inch iMac Graphics Cards

Ben Reid·August 17, 2013
All new Apple products go through a process of extensive, meticulous testing before hitting the market, a move that ensures that each device is safe to use and free of any mechanical error. But despite this, it is often the case that unforeseen issues do arise, and a problem with the graphics card for some mid-2011 iMac computers has meant that the fruit company will be taking remedial steps by means of a replacement program.

New Gold iPhone 5S Leaked Parts Add More Substance To Circulating Rumor [IMAGES]

Paul Morris·August 17, 2013
Over the course of the iPhone's existence, we've pretty much heard every single type of rumor that it's possible for people to come up with. Large screen sizes, different color variants, budget devices and the possibility of a convex home button to provide a little additional component space for a fingerprint sensor. However, today's emergence of the possibility of a champagne / gold colored iPhone 5S is definitely up there with the unexpected speculative topics. It may seem a little unlikely to some, but newly leaked images that show purported parts of the sparkling device add more fuel to the growing fire.

How To Supercharge The Boring iPhone Passcode Screen With Tons Of Customizable Options [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·August 17, 2013
The iPhone 5S is widely expected to pack a sapphire-laden fingerprint sensor, which should make the process of unlocking the device a lot more secure. But until it happens, if it indeed ever does happen, the traditional passcode / password tools are your best hope of securing your device natively. If you're jailbroken, however, there are plenty of additional options at your disposal, and from the makers of the very enjoyable Piano Passcode tweak comes XPasscode, another Cydia gem that allows you to create your very own themes.

AR. Drone 2.0 Power Edition Is A Handsome Upgrade On A Very Cool Gadget [VIDEO]

Ben Reid·August 17, 2013
Although we love our smartphones, tablets, notebooks and common gadgets here at Redmond Pie, we do occasionally like to feature some out-of-the-ordinary toys for no other reason than sheer coolness. The AR. Drone 2.0 Power Edition is exactly that, and with a price of eighty bucks more than the standard version, you get quite a bit more bang - or should we say, blade - for your buck.

Sony Honami Smartphone Can Record Video In 4K, According To Leaked Slide

Ben Reid·August 16, 2013
Sony, being a camera maker as well as a smartphone manufacturer, should have the smartphone-camera market pretty much sewn up. But with Nokia continuing to shine in this particular department, it would appear as though the Japanese electronics giant is about to step up its game. A leaked presentation slide of the rumored "Honami" handset suggests the device could be capable of shooting 4K video, and with the company's PlayStation 4 console set to be a vital part of the Ultra HD revolution, we certainly wouldn't discount these claims with haste.

Gold iPhone 5S With 128GB Storage To Be Available At Launch [Report]

Ben Reid·August 16, 2013
When it comes to rumors pertaining an upcoming Apple product, it would seem that everybody has something to say. But only certain voices tend to really matter when this topic is brought up, and KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is one such individual. Talking of the soon-to-be-announced iPhone 5S, it appears that Kuo subscribes to the notion that the device will be offered in a third, 'champagne' gold color configuration, and on top of that, he also believes the handset will see a 128GB model.

This App + Kinect Can Turn Anything Into A Touch-Screen [VIDEO]

Aatif·August 16, 2013
Every once in a while, there comes a new idea that truly makes consumers go crazy over the product that has been delivered (or proposed, for that matter). Ubi Interactive, a company that has no link whatsoever to Ubisoft, by the way, has come up with the new application that works in conjunction with Microsoft’s Kinect for Xbox, and has the ability to convert any flat surface into a virtual “touch-screen” that works with a projector.

This New iWatch Concept Mixes Traditional Feel With Apple’s Design Language [IMAGES]

Ben Reid·August 16, 2013
Ah, the iWatch. A product long since mentioned in forums across the Web, but even after years of such speculation, yet to show its digitized face to the masses. There's a feeling, though, that the current spate of rumors are based upon more than just thin air, and that actually, Apple is preparing some sort of smart watch product for release at some point in the near future. With suggestions that the Cupertino has over 100 members of staff dedicated to the task, that would seem evidence enough for us all to get a little bit excited, and to offer us an idea of what kind of end-product this could eventually entail, designer Stephen Olmstead has come through with a rather nice set of concepts.
