How To Get Android L Theme On Your Smartphone Right Now

Ben Reid·July 4, 2014
Google's new Android L may only be at preview stage, with the fact that it hasn't even been given a proper name yet being a testament to this, but nevertheless, we're already seeing some encouraging signs of improvements that have been made. Namely, the company is shooting for an all-new "Material Design" language, which is set to give the interface a more layered, vibrant feel, and although we're still quite away from the end user release, I'm sure many of you cannot wait to run Android L on your devices. If you don't fancy going ahead and installing the preview on the Nexus 7 or Nexus 5, then thankfully, there's a theme floating about that allows you to achieve a similar look on your current handset.

5.5-inch iPhone To Be Called ‘iPhone Air’, Release Date Revealed In New Report

Ben Reid·July 4, 2014
Apple is said to be preparing two new iPhones for release later on this year - a 4.7-inch model and a larger, 5.5-inch variant. Hitherto, reports have suggested that only smaller of the two new iPhone 6 configurations would be available from the start, with the more sizeable option apparently beset by manufacturing delays. However, a new report today has indicated that, as suspected, Apple will announce and release its next-gen smartphone in the month of September, although interestingly, has added that the 16GB edition of the 5.5-inch device will also hit the retail market on the same date.

Facebook Messenger For iPad Finally Available, Get Downloading!

Ben Reid·July 3, 2014
Facebook has, in more recent times, sought to diversify its range of mobile apps, and in doing so, decided to separate the messaging component the official Facebook into a standalone, Facebook Messenger app. The move has worked very much to the benefit of the Facebook experience as a whole, but while the iPhone version has been knocking around for quite a while, the iPad version has been conspicuous by its absence. Now, though, the Menlo Park firm has rolled out a version tailored to Apple's prized tablet, and below, we've got all of the details.

Ben Reid·July 3, 2014
It's widely suspected that Apple will release a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 later on this year, and may also announce a 5.5-inch model that will probably roll out slightly later thanks to manufacturing delays. Today, a video comparing the front panel of the 4.7-inch variant with the current iPhone 5s has been released, offering a rough idea of how said device might look to hold.

New iPhone 6 Renders Cover Many Never-Before-Seen Details [Images]

Paul Morris·July 3, 2014
The growing list of "iPhone 6" leaked visuals, components and schematics seem to be never-ending at the moment. Rarely does a day go by at the moment without someone claiming to have inside knowledge of Apple's supply chain through which they have extracted the exact design and visuals of the next-generation iPhone. Rarely do these predictions turn out to be true. Still, the annual pre-release dance is always entertaining, bringing with it some beautiful looking concepts and renders from some of the Internet's best designers. The latest visuals, and perhaps the most convincing and aesthetically pleasing yet, come from designer Mark Pelin and aim to incorporate all of the most reputable leaks into one single artist's impression.

This iWatch Concept Features iOS 8, 2.5-inch Display, Ton Of Health Sensors [Video]

Oliver Haslam·July 3, 2014
If you want a break from all of the iPhone concept videos then how about an iWatch concept? We may be almost certain that a new iPhone will arrive around September time, but the existence of an iWatch is still just a rumor - albeit one that just won't die. A rumor it may be, but it's a rumor that sees plenty of information cropping up seemingly on a daily basis, and at this point we have to be fairly confident that we'll see a smartwatch with an Apple logo on it some time later this year.

Microsoft’s Smartwatch Will Have 11 Sensors, Works Cross-Platform

Oliver Haslam·July 3, 2014
Now that Google has well and truly shown its hand in the smartwatch arena, all eyes are firmly on Apple and the supposed iWatch announcement that's been penciled in for October time. With all the focus on those two companies, Microsoft has flown somewhat under the radar, but new reports suggest that het software giant may have its very own smartwatch on the way with a similar October release timeframe.

Rochester Optical Sunglass Lenses For Google Glass Now Available

Paul Morris·July 2, 2014
Google Glass may have managed to notch up legions of fans thanks to its technical capabilities, but could we about to see the fashion conscious adopt the wearable technology as a statement of style? It may sound a little far-fetched as the product isn't exactly the most aesthetically pleasing piece of kit we've ever come across. However, in an effort to stand apart from other providers of prescription lenses for Glass, Rochester Optical has started offering a line of stylish sunglass lenses that are compatible with Google's eyewear.
