Apple’s iPhone Now Owns 92% Of All Smartphone Market Profits

Paul Morris·July 14, 2015
The smartphone market is a vastly competitive place to do business, and while Android may be reigning victorious when it comes to market share, that doesn't necessarily equate to profit for device manufacturers. A new report, which has emerged over the weekend by Canaccord Genuity, approximates that while Apple may only hold 20% of the total market share, it was actually responsible for banking 92% of the entire smartphone market's profits during the first quarter of 2015.

Google Photos For Android Continues Uploading Your Stuff Even When App Is Deleted

Paul Morris·July 13, 2015
It's natural to assume that once you've deleted an app from your Android device, the functionality contained within it will cease to exist as well. However, it would appear that in some instances, namely when Google Photos is involved, merely making the conscious decision to remove the app from your phone or tablet is not enough to prevent the search engine giant from receiving uploads of your treasured Android device's photos / videos and storing them against your account.

iPhone 6 Outperforms Galaxy S6 In High-End Gaming Benchmark Test

Paul Morris·July 13, 2015
The 'Battle of the Sixes' report has been published by and it makes for some interesting reading. GameBench created the report as an opportunity to create the "first objective comparison of the Apple iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 on the basis of real-world gaming performance." Put simply, if you're heavily into high-end mobile gaming on your smartphone, are you better off investing in Apple's iPhone 6 or Samsung's Galaxy S6? It seems that last year's iPhone 6 is still capable of edging out this year's competition by a good 10% "average lead."

This Crazy iPhone Concept Features Dual Displays, Laser Keyboard And More [Video]

Paul Morris·July 11, 2015
Apple has done a seriously impressive job of continually pushing the boundaries of what we thought was possible on a smartphone since the launch of the original iPhone back in 2007. And if the speculation regarding the next-generation iPhone turns out to be true then it looks like we could be in for yet another treat this coming September. With that said, wouldn't you just like them to go all out and build an utterly insane device that steps away from the norm and bring some serious next-level features? That's exactly what artist Jermaine Smith has done with his insane iPhone concept.

Google Releases ‘Ivy’ Big Number Calculator App For iOS [Download Link]

Oliver Haslam·July 11, 2015
Google has stealthily released a new app onto the iOS App Store, with Ivy being the latest to appear on Apple's platform. The app, free to download and curiously missing from Google's own Play Store for Android, Ivy is an experimental big number calculator that may look like something from the 1980s but certainly shouldn't be confused with a cheap calculator emulator.
