New, Unreleased iPad Pops Up In Eurasian Economic Commission Database

We’ve heard rumors of a new iPad Pro release at some point in the next few months, but we didn’t know when that would be. But a new iPad has just popped up in the Eurasian Economic Commission database which might suggest it’s just around the corner.

The new database entry is for an iPad with the model designation A2229. The description says it’s a “tablet computer of the Apple brand” and that it runs iPadOS 13. That’s as much as it says, but it’s enough to tell us that there’s a new iPad of some sort. And it’s likely to be announced sooner rather than later.

Whether this is an iPad Pro, we don’t know, but the fact that it’s just a single model number might suggest not. That’s something we’ll just have to wait and see before we know the answer to.

The Eurasian Economic Commission database is where all electronic devices live if they support encryption. Apple’s products do, of course, so they all appear in that database eventually. Anything sold in Russia and some other countries must be added to the database – if it supports encryption as we mentioned – so nothing can go on sale without that box being ticked.

We’ve seen products outed by this particular database in the past. And Apple is rumored to have plenty to announce this week, too. We’ve already seen the new Powerbeats announced, and we’ve also been told to expect a new MacBook Air, too.
