Model X Plaid Does 0-60 In 2.3 Seconds, Faster Than Tesla’s Claim

Tesla’s Model X Plaid is now the fastest SUV vehicle in the world and this video shows just how blistering the performance is!

Many consumers have purchased the Model X Plaid based on Tesla’s performance statistics but this video shows the SUV going from 0-60 mph in just 2.3-seconds.

On the announcement, Tesla specified a number of performance statistics and selling points of the Model X Plaid. It was never going to be as fast as the fastest production sedan in the world, the Model S Plaid, but it was always going to offer blistering performance. Elon Musk’s company specified that the Model X Plaid would hit 0-60 mph in 2.5-seconds, cover a 1/4 mile in just 9.9-seconds, and come packed with 1,020 horsepower. This level of performance would be provided by three high-performance motors and torque vectoring.

As the old adage goes, manufacturers should underpromise but try to over-deliver, which is exactly what looks to have happened if this latest video of the Model X Plaid is anything to go by.

The video has been posted by Vehicle Virgins and provides a POV review of Tesla’s new SUV, including testing out the acceleration of the car. The Vbox data logger attached to the vehicle clearly shows that the car launched from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 2.3-seconds, which is ever-so-slightly faster than Tesla’s specification metrics.

Punters who have previously ordered a Model X Plaid SUV are starting to receive deliveries of their vehicles, so it’s likely we will start to see more and more videos of the car being put through its paces. With prices of the Model X Plaid starting from a whopping $126,000, it will definitely be welcome news that owners can squeeze a little more performance out of the car than previously advertised.
