How To Play YouTube And More Videos On Your Car’s Apple CarPlay Display Without Jailbreak

Here’s how to play YouTube, Netflix and more videos on your car’s Apple CarPlay display without jailbreak.

Apple CarPlay is pretty great for all kinds of reasons, not least the fact that it means people don’t try and use their iPhones while they drive.

That safety aspect also ensures that you can’t run video streaming apps like YouTube and Netflix. But what if you’re parked up and want to kill some time? Or, if the person sitting in passenger or back seat wants to have fun by playing some video? Turns out, there’s a dongle for that! You don’t need a jailbroken iPhone to make this all work!

In order to make this work, you’ll need to have a car with OEM wired-CarPlay screen installed from factory. If you have one of those many cars, add iCarPlayDongle X and you’re good to go.

Apart from being able to turn your wired CarPlay experience into a wireless one, this thing also enables mirroring via AirPlay or MirrorLink, enabling the streaming of video like YouTube and Netflix. Awesome!

  • Adds MirrorLink And AirPlay Mirroring functionality so that you can mirror your iPhone or Android’s screen to car’s head unit.
  • Mirroring means you can play videos from YouTube, Netflix and more from your phone using MirrorLink or AirPlay.
