Download: iOS 15.4 Beta 1 And iPadOS 15.4 Beta 1 Released To Developers

Apple has seeded the first betas of iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 to developers just a day after making iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3 available to the public.

The updates, which can be downloaded over the air so long as developers have the right profile installed, are likely the very beginning of a number of beta releases.

Those who don’t yet have the correct developer profile installed can get it from the Apple Developer Center website while anyone who is on the public beta program will also likely be able to download these new updates within the next few days depending on whether any showstopping issues are discovered.

It’s still early days for these updates and we’re still learning what they have to offer, but one feature that has already been spotted within iOS 15.4 is the ability to enable Face ID for use even when wearing a mask.

Currently, Face ID fails when a mask is seen unless an authenticated Apple Watch is also detected. With iOS 15.4, an Apple Watch is not needed.

We don’t yet know when Apple will make iOS 15.4 and iPadOS 15.4 available to the public, but it’s likely to come after a few more beta releases — likely around 8 weeks or so depending on how many betas there are.
