If you pay attention to the jailbreaking scene, you'll be aware that the current state of jailbreak is not a good one. Currently, all A5+ devices cannot be jailbroken on the current iOS version, 6.1.3 or 6.1.4. Apple has stopped signing the iOS 6.1.2 firmware, which is the last firmware compatible with the Evasi0n untethered jailbreak.
Musyc, a new app released for iOS, is yet another of those quirky music creation apps allowing you to whimsically create some very nice sounds by shuffling different shapes around. Although it sounds like a children's game, it's actually a lot more enjoyable and gratifying than it should be, and if you feel like kicking back and making some sweet music, check out the details after the jump!
We are fast approaching that all-important period of time that manages to sneak up on us each and every year. Yes, we are talking about the point in the yearly calendar when the speculation surrounding the next-generation of iPhone starts to well and truly come to the surface. We've seen this year's WWDC come and go with no mention whatsoever of any new iPhone hardware, which in itself is significant as it immediately rubbished rumors relating to Apple falling back in line with the original 2007 June announcement schedule. Very little is known about the seventh-generation iPhone device - other than it will run iOS 7 of course - but a couple of images to mysteriously emerge could show the existence of the iPhone 5S with a number of notable upgrades.
Google Glass may only be in the hands of developers, creative individuals and one or two competition winners, but that hasn't prevented the world of tech from getting itself excited about the search giant's wearable tech. Last month, we saw one such creative, Adam Bell, had managed to route iOS notifications through to Glass using a contraption he'd thrown together, and now, a tweak has emerged offering a simpler way for such a process to be achieved. More details and where to download from, can be found right after the break.
As we heard a couple of days back and thus, expected Facebook to announce at its next "big idea" event today, the social network has stepped out and confirmed that Instagram will indeed be bringing Vine-like video support, meaning users will be able to record and keep short, memorable clips alongside their snaps. The announcement could well spell the beginning of the end for a Vine app that has been making reasonable headway in recent times, while also helping to expand and broaden Instagram's already seemingly insatiable appeal.
Of all the uses a smartphone can bring to the table, universal remote facilities are utilized by many a consumer. While some devices come equipped with an infrared sensor right out of the box for this very purpose (among others), the vast majority, including Apple's iPhone, do not offer such a feature as standard. Luckily, renowned peripheral expert Logitech has come through with its nifty Harmony Ultimate Hub, which allows you to turn virtually any smartphone into an all-singing, all-dancing universal remote control for just about any piece of kit you may have lying around. Details after the jump!
It may seem like an eternity ago when we watched Apple lift the covers off the radically redesigned iOS 7 at this year's WWDC, but let's be honest with ourselves here - we're all still talking about it. Whether our opinions are largely positive, negative or remain neutral; the fact remains that Apple is embarking on a journey of rebirth when it comes to iOS. The introduction of iOS 7 saw a number of existing jailbreak tweaks become null and void, but developer Evan Swick can think himself lucky that his new NativeQR package is still relevant and hasn't been Sherlocked by Apple's creative teams.
Facebook iOS updates are an interesting phenomenon. On one hand we could be in for a complete redesign at a moment's notice and on the other we might be getting stickers - or oversized emojis to you and I. Today's Facebook update brings some new features to the iPhone and iPad, but we do find ourselves struggling to get too excited this time around.
When you're presented with such a big redesign as iOS 7, there are bound to be a few hidden gems to be discovered. There are a few additions in the first beta of the latest version of iOS that Apple didn't crow about at WWDC, but there are some features that were never meant to be found, too.
In this guide, we detail the legal way to download iOS 7 beta and install it on your iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4 and iPod touch 5
