I'm not sure if I am the only one, but whenever I think about Apple as a company, I always assign a certain level of fairy tale type magic to them. I can't quite put my finger on why that's the case, but it probably has a lot to do with the way the company has dragged themselves from the depths of despair to become the most profitable company in existence, producing some truly remarkable and innovative products along the way. The world is extremely familiar with the iPhone, iPod and iPad as well as the flawlessly designed Mac range of computers, but what about the Apple iCar?
Kickstarter campaigns make for great reporting, and although not all products dreamed up by the talented individuals behind them are necessarily going to do well in the consumer market, they're intriguing nonetheless. One of the newest, which has only just been posted on the most popular start-up site, is one of the most interesting we've seen, and allows one to create genuine 3D videos and images by attaching a cone-shaped contraption to the back on an iPhone 4/4S.
Although nothing should ever be taken for granted in the run-up to a new release from Apple, the tech world seems fairly convinced of which shape the next iPhone will take. Last year, the blogosphere was most certainly fooled by the prospect of an "iPhone 5," and left somewhat disappointed by the largely unchanged iPhone 4S, but this time around, there is a great deal of evidence suggesting we're closer to the mark this time around.
As we head closer and closer to the months of September and October, rumors, reports, and leaks related to the next iPhone are becoming quite frequent. A few days ago, we saw purported images (and a video too) of the next iPhone with its body fully assembled, showing a smaller dock connector, a larger, more elongated display, and a metal back.
Depending on which report you happen to come across, we could be anywhere between six or ten weeks away from a possible Apple announcement regarding the technical details and visuals of the next-generation iPhone. Over the last few weeks, it has been widely reported that the new iPhone will launch during the month of October, exactly twelve months after the announcement of the iPhone 4S. However, recent speculation seems to be pointing towards a September 12th Apple media event where we could see a new model iPad as well as a couple of new iPods and the new iPhone.
Want to watch the BBC's live coverage of the Olympics but don't live in the UK? No problem, thanks to a company that believes it has the technology to hook you up. The best bit? It's free, at least for now!
Apple Experimented With A Curved Glass iPhone But Decided Against It Due To High Manufacturing Costs
Although we don't believe that the current Apple versus Samsung trial is a good thing for the technology world, it certainly does make up for an interesting watch from the outside and allows us to get an insight into the inner workings and design strategies of both companies. Certain statements and depositions from those giving evidence in the case are providing us with what would otherwise be a pretty much impossible look into the early design decisions that centered around the development of the iPhone.
We should all know by now that Apple and Samsung are locked in a trial centered around a patent infringement case that has been bubbling away for the better part of the last eighteen months. With various allegations being made from either side, the dispute is primarily focused on the alleged patent and design infringements, with Apple said to be looking for $2 billion in compensation from the Korean electronics giants. As is usually the case with trials that center around this kind of thing, nothing is ever straight forward with Samsung vehemently disputing the claims and making their own accusations aimed at Apple.
It seems like yesterday when the iPhone 4S was launched, and we already find ourselves in the first week of August fighting our way through the daily speculation about when Apple will finally announce and launch their sixth iteration of the insanely popular iPhone. For the better part of this year, it has been widely speculated that the new device will follow last year’s release schedule and make its way into our lives at some point in October, but recent speculation has been intensifying about a possible media event on September 12th which will introduce us to the new iPhone, an iPad Mini and a couple of new iPods. The jury is still out on that one.
If you are the kind of individual who goes out and spends hundreds and hundreds of dollars each year on devices like the iPhone and iPad, and also happen to own a Mac, then the chances are that you actually appreciate a little bit of luxury in your life. Say what you want about Apple as a company, but regardless of whether you love them or hate them, there are very few people who could comprehensively argue against the fact that their products are built of the highest standard and feel like premium items.
