Traditional pop, rock, alternative, electronica, rap, comedy - a small list of the categories contained within the Grammy Awards, each of which is intended to isolate a specific contribution to music. As far as I can remember Steve Jobs didn't release a rap song and I certainly can't picture him writing traditional pop. So the news that he has posthumously been awarded a Grammy Award, as reported by Mercury News, has come as a bit of a shock.

In brief, a large number of of iDevice users has reported via the Apple Support Communities forums that when attempting to access the App Store via a device running iOS 3.1.3 they were greeted with a non functioning platform. Some users experienced a total App Store black out with no functionality whatsoever, whereas some could actually download updates to already installed applications but could not browse or purchase new apps.

Users around the world have reported in the last couple of days that purchasing and downloading applications from the iTunes App Store has become problematic for them, with what seems like an almost total block from the platform. It remains to be clarified what is actually causing the issue, and with no official word from Apple we can only speculate as to the cause but the problem is affecting a random selection of users, the majority of which are running older versions of iOS.

In the latest round of Apple Vs. Everyone lawsuits that seem to be dominating the news of late, the iPhone maker has successfully managed to get HTC's Android hardware banned after the U.S. Trade Commission ruled in its favor. As of April 19th 2012, a ban on HTC's Android hardware will come into effect across the United States unless things change between now and then, of course.
