Less than a month after releasing OS X Mountain Lion to the public via the Mac App Store, Apple has updated its desktop operating system bringing an array of minor bug fixes. Despite selling over two million copies in the first 48 hours alone, the very first iteration has had a couple of minor issues, as is nearly always the case with an initial release.
Coverage of the leakage of new iPhone / iPhone 5 parts is now a common topic here at Redmond Pie. Of course, until Apple officially announces it, we really can’t be sure about the parts, but some of these have been coming from authentic, reputed sources like 9to5Mac and, today MacRumors, so we have a strong feeling that they indeed the real thing.
Remember the great iPhone prototype scandal of 2010 when an Apple employee left a prototype iPhone 4 at a bar and a writer from blog bought it, observed every nook and cranny of it and revealed it to the world as the iPhone 4? Of course you do. Well, another iPhone 4 prototype has popped up earlier today. Check out the details after the jump.
Although we are yet to hear of any official confirmation from Apple about the rumored September 12th press event, everything which we are hearing from various sources seems to suggest that we might be in for a little more than we had initially bargained for when the day eventually comes around. Previous speculation had suggested that the media event is definitely going to be taking place on the aforementioned date, but would more than likely be to introduce the world to the next-generation iPhone and possibly announce the immediate availability of iOS 6 for supported older-generation devices.
If there is one thing which iPhone fans out there don't really need is additional confirmation that the new iPhone will be introduced to us next month. Unless it comes from the horse’s mouth of course. Over the last few months, we have been treated to countless leaks of components and parts that form the sixth-generation device and also heard enough speculation about the September 12th announcement date to pretty much convince us all that it's going to happen on that day. All we really need is the official invites from Apple.
Rumors and reports of a smaller, more portable iPad have been in the air since 2010, but their frequency has increased significantly this year thanks to the success of smaller, cheaper tablets like the Amazon Kindle Fire and Google Nexus 7.
One Apple authorized repair company has married two separate iPhone 5 parts leaks, potentially giving us an insight into what we will all be drooling over next month.
As we approach the final quarter of the year and get ever closer to the holiday shopping season, we are bracing ourselves for the release of some hardware from Apple and although most of the speculation has been lavished onto what the Cupertino giants will bring with their new iPhone, it's worth remembering that not every Apple device fan immediately goes out to grab the latest smartphone model with some preferring to let the fruit company handle their personal music needs instead.
The countdown to the speculated Apple media event on September 12th has well and truly begun, but unlike in years gone by when we have been waiting patiently in the hope of even getting an early glimpse of what the new iPhone will offer us, the run up to this release has brought multiple sightings of internal and external components as well as a whole host of extremely professional looking device renders based on the leaked parts. We can be pretty confident that apart from a new internal and technical unknowns that we are pretty clued up on what Apple will be showing us when the time eventually comes.
We all love or gadgets and consumer technology items and although they can't really be classed as essential life items, things like the iPhone and iPad and other smartphones or tablets have grown to become essential luxuries for a lot of us. As we become more connected but also more mobile, these electronic devices have been integral to staying in touch with family and friends and have become an extension of our everyday lives. The problem with that is that it isn't exactly cheap to go out and grab the latest Apple hardware or the current must have Android tablet.
