Bose’s Latest Portable Wireless Speaker Supports AirPlay 2, Alexa, Google Assistant, More

The portable speaker market is one that is very, very well stocked. Every speaker company has a portable product in stores or on the way and Bose has announced a new one; the Bose Portable Home Speaker.

Costing $349 the new speaker has plenty going for it. There is WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity with AirPlay 2, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Spotify Connect built right in.

If the speaker itself looks familiar, it’s likely because this appears to be a new version of the previous SoundLink Revolve+ speaker that sold in 2017.

That means that you can expect a cylindrical design in a couple of colors. That design will make for 360-degree sound so you don’t need to worry about location too much. Size-wise, the speaker is around 7.5-inches stall and around half as wide.

You can charge the integrated battery via USB-C and it’s rated as IPX4 water resistance, too.

The popular belief is that Bose is announcing this speaker now in order to get the product into the world before Sonos can announce the rumored Move speaker. The Move is expected to be announced very soon and will have a very similar set of features. And by “very soon,” we mean next week. The timing couldn’t be any more obvious.

If you want to go the Bose route you will be able to pick one up on September 19th, in black or silver, for $349.
