You are all familiar with Microsoft's Zune Music Pass, right? No? Well actually, you aren't the only one who may not be that au fait with the Redmond offering, but that shouldn't really cause you much concern as the subscription service that allows unlimited music streaming/downloading is being cast into the wilderness - at least in some regions. The time of Zune has been and gone and with the Xbox Music service on the horizon, it seems a little strange that the Zune Music Pass is arriving in some new territories as we speak.
You can bet your bottom dollar that if it was purely up to Apple then deadlines wouldn't be missed and delivery targets wouldn't go unfulfilled. You can say what you want about the Cupertino technology giants, but they are as regular as clockwork and always on top of the things that matter most. It's somewhat unfortunate that reports are suggesting that the production, announcement and launch of the company's 13-inch variant of the Retina display MacBook Pro is being delayed due to issues beyond their control.
We begin to look forward to the traditional iFixit device teardown that always seem to happen like clockwork whenever Apple pushes out a new device to the market. We are very rarely let down by the quality of the analysis and images that are associated with the experiment, with this time being no exception as the team got their hands on the new fifth-generation iPod touch to see just what Apple have managed to pack in that tiny little slim frame.
The first batch of iPhone 5 units have been plagued with the purple lens flare issue while taking photos with the embedded rear-facing camera, which has left a lot of users of disgruntled. The manufacturers of the camHoodie iPhone 5 case are hoping to capitalize on the issue with the release of their product which hopes to minimize the purple hazing significantly.
Last month was undoubtedly huge for Apple with the initial public release of iOS 6 and the worldwide announcement and launch of the sixth-generation iPhone. All signals are suggesting that October will be equally as important for the Cupertino technology giants with the expected announcement and release of the purported iPad Mini. It may not be as big an announcement as all of that, but it looks like Apple Stores will also start to stock iPhone 5 cases later on this month.
It was only yesterday when the Android 4.1.2 update was officially released to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and began showing up as an over-the-air update to Nexus 7 devices in certain territories. The relatively short timescales involved between then and now hasn't stopped the guys over at CyanogenMod from working their magic and updating their custom ROM to offer the latest Google update to Android.
The smartphone industry is currently enjoying a much appreciated and welcome boom at the moment with various manufacturers pushing out multiple handsets to the market that allow a whole host of choice for consumers. If the iPhone 5, Galaxy S III, One X+ or the Windows Phone 8 powered Nokia Lumia 920 doesn't entice you in, then maybe the next Google Nexus smartphone is the one you have been waiting for.
There has been a lot of talk about how Microsoft and retailers would actually deliver the final Windows 8 product to the users, and just to our liking; Amazon has shed a little light on the subject and revealed the official Windows 8 packaging in the process.
Apple has built up a reputation over the last few years as a company that cares deeply about the quality of their products and have shown time and time again that internal changes can be made quickly to combat any production or quality issues that are within the company's control. If today's report is anything to go by then it looks as if Apple has thrown in new measures in place to ramp up quality control checks on their iPhone 5 production lines to ensure that the number of sixth-generation iPhones being shipped containing cosmetic damage is kept to an absolute minimum.
