You know you've truly made it when you're the butt of the joke on something like Conan O'Brien's late night TV show, and Apple has found itself in that particular position on more than a few occasions. We're not sure the folks in Cupertino will be laughing quite so hard though.

Oliver Haslam has written about technology for over a decade. His work has been published in print at Macworld and online pretty much everywhere else. If it plugs in or has a battery, it's fair game.
If you use your iPhones as much as we do, then the chances are that you also carry around an external battery pack of some sort. If you carry a battery pack around, then you're also likely to carry some means of charging either that battery pack or your iPhone itself. Or, if you're particularly careful, one for both!
Samsung is licking its wounds today after IDC estimated that it saw a very rare year-on-year drop in smartphone market share during the second quarter of 2014, which will concern a company that is historically used to its percentages going in the opposite direction.
Sometimes you read something and then have to make sure that it's not April 1st, but alas, today is not April Fools Day and unfortunately, this report from Reuters appears to be far from a joke. If you've a concert-goer, then you're no doubt already acutely aware of one problem that has cropped up over the last ten years or so. In fact, we'd say it's only really come to our attention since the iPhone arrived in 2007.
Fancy projectors can run into the zone of thousands of dollars, especially if they're either made for movie watching or some sort of educational role that requires them to function similar to a touch-screen. It's the latter that we're most interested in here, because TouchJet's TouchPico projector may be about to offer something many could find a real use for, at a fraction of the price of existing solutions.
When Apple recently announced its latest financial results, there was little to get too excited about. Big sales are a given these days for Apple, but with new products not expected for another month or two, the analysts that like to make so much noise just haven't had too much to feed on, making this particular call even more boring than usual.
