Apple’s Next iPad mini Will Reportedly Get A Bigger 8.3-Inch Screen

Apple is now largely expected to release a refreshed iPad mini soon and that new tablet will benefit from a larger 8.3-inch display, according to a new report.

That report comes via Ross Young at Display Supply Chain Consultants via Twitter. It’s thought that the display will grow from 7.9 inches to the larger 8.3-inch size as a result of a smaller bezel.

We’ve been hearing reports of a new iPad mini over the last couple of months with analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also saying that a screen size of up to nine inches could be expected.

Apple is expected to remove the Home button and put Touch ID into the device’s sleep/wake button, allowing the overall size of the device to remain the same while still expanding the display to all four corners of the iPad mini. Imagine a smaller iPad Air, and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what Apple is now expected to announce.

Recent reports by 9to5Mac also suggest that the new iPad mini will pack an A15 processor as well as a USB-C port and a Smart Connector. Apple is also expected to put an A15 processor in the new iPhone 13, so we can expect the new iPad mini to be a little speed demon once it arrives.

Bloomberg recently described the new refresh as the iPad mini’s biggest yet, so expectations are already pretty high.
