Apple To Launch AirPods Pro With Noise Canceling By End Of Month [Report]

Apple launched the updated AirPods earlier this year but they were very much a small upgrade to the original model. Now a new report has AirPods Pro launching as soon as the end of this month.

AirPods Pro would be differentiated from the standard AirPods in a couple of ways.

Firstly, the new headphones would be in-ear earbuds with noise canceling technology built in; a feature that has been rumored earlier, in fact it was believed to debut with the AirPods 2, but that never happened of course. That would allow for a better aural experience and improved isolation.

They would also be made of metal rather than the plastic which the standard AirPods are built from. This would not only allow for a more premium feel, but also give them better heat dissipation. This could be really important with Apple squeezing noise canceling tech into an already-tiny device.

According to the report, all of this is set to come to market by the end of October, with a price around the $260 mark. This isn’t cheap, but given the additional features and construction, it could make sense.

The use of the Pro name is also something that makes plenty of sense. Apple has further set its Pro products as the top-of-the-range model designation with the arrival of the iPhone 11 Pro, so AirPods Pro isn’t a big leap by any stretch of the imagination.

With the end of October just two weeks away it’s unknown whether this report will turn out to be accurate or not. But the good news is we won’t need to wait too long before we find out.
