Apple Rumored To Have A Cheap iPad With An A12 Processor In The Works

Apple may launch a new iPad later this year, complete with an Apple A12 processor, according to one leaker.

Twitter account L0vetodream is anonymous, but has previously been able to correctly predict products and features. According to the account there’s an iPad coming in 2020 that will take advantage of Apple’s A12 chip – ditching the A10 chip that is used in the current generation of iPad.

We’ve already heard rumors of an iPad mini and iPad refresh, potentially with slightly different screen sizes to those we’ve become accustomed to.

The current iPad was refreshed in September of 2019 and brought with it a larger 10.2-inch display so it’s likely no further refresh will happen until around September this year at the earliest.

However, the same anonymous twitter account has previously said that some of Apple’s 2020 lineup is going to experience delays thanks to the current coronavirus pandemic and the impact it’s had on Apple’s research and development efforts.

While relatively new, this particular Twitter account was able to predict some iPhone SE details before it was announced and, notably, before some of the other well connected leakers were able to do the same. While it’s impossible to know at this point whether there’s any fire to go with this smoke, we wouldn’t suggest ruling anything out right now.
