Apple Adds Animoji, Memoji Support To Clips App

Apple has today updated the Clips app for both iPhone and iPad. This new version adds support for Animoji and Memoji for the first time, with those characters able to be used in videos as they’re created.

Once the videos have been made, they can be sent as video messages or used in projects for other things. The addition of Memoji and Animoji adds an extra layer of fun to proceedings as well.

Any Memoji that is created will automatically be available within the Clips app, and the videos can include music, text, and even filters. That makes them excellent options for sharing to things like Instagram, for example.

Clips is Apple’s basic video editing app that is designed for creating videos that will likely be used on social media, whether that’s TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, or whatever the kids are using these days. It isn’t a complicated app but it can be surprisingly powerful in the right hands.

This is the first app update that Clips has seen since April, so it’s fair to say that it isn’t an app that sees regular updates. But unlike so many other Apple apps, at least it isn’t tied into releases of iOS and iPadOS and has to wait for those updates to arrive once a year.
