This iMac Concept Looks Like The Old G4 Version In All The Right Ways

Apple’s iMac and iMac Pro are definitely due a refresh and a new concept takes us through what that might look like. Or, more accurately, what we wish it would look like. And it’ll be immediately familiar to fans of Apple’s older computers.

That’s because the concept borrows heavily from the G4 iMac and that is absolutely a good thing.

Created by 24-year-old designer Xhakomo Doda, the concept shows us something that borrows from the old, but is most definitely something that looks every bit as futuristic as that G4 did many years ago.

Speaking with Cult of Mac, Doda said that he wanted to use the same materials that Apple uses across its lineup right now.

“[I wanted to keep] the same shape of the semi-spherical case on the bottom, and the flat monitor held by the tubular stand,” he said. “I implemented the aluminum and glass, materials that currently are [synonymous with] Apple.”

The iMac itself looks great, but the keyboard is where things really get interesting. It’s a touch-based keyboard akin to an iPad and it’s perhaps where Apple will eventually go in the future. Whether we want it to or not.

If Apple’s new iMac looks anything like this we’re going to be very happy indeed. Imagine this, 27-inches big or more, sat on your desk!
