The UK’s NHS App For iPhone Now Puts Your COVID Pass Into Apple Wallet

The UK COVID-19 passport just became easier for people to use after the app began allowing iPhone users to put their pass into the iPhone’s Apple Wallet.

That means that people can add the pass to their wallet and then no longer need to launch the NHS app to present their COVID-19 passport.

The passport is being used for international travel to and from some countries as well as some events within the UK itself. The COVID Pass is used to prove whether someone has been vaccinated or not, and having it to hand could come in super handy for people.

You can show the vaccination records contained within your NHS COVID Pass as proof of your COVID-19 status when travelling abroad.

In addition to your NHS COVID Pass, you will need to follow additional rules when travelling abroad.

Anyone with the COVID Pass in their Apple Wallet can access it in much the same way they would use Apple Pay — by pressing the sleep/wake button twice on their iPhone.

We haven’t tested it yet, but it’s also possible that this may work on the Apple Watch — although it’s possible the screen will be too small to accurately display the QR code that makes up the bulk of the COVID Pass.
