Tesla has released a new software update for cars that are already out in the wild, with this one adding support for Disney+ to Tesla Theater, a new Car Wash Mode, and more.
Tesla’s release notes remind people that Disney+ can only be watched when the car is in PARK, while the new Car Wash Mode puts the car into a state that is best for when washing your car.
That includes closing all windows, locking the charging port, and disabling the wipers.
“Car Wash Mode closes all windows, locks the charge port and disables windshield wipers, sentry mode, walk-away door locks and parking sensor chimes. For automatic car washes with conveyor belts, the Free Roll option shifts to Neutral and prevents the parking brake from automatically applying if you leave. To access Car Wash Mode, tap Controls > Service > Car Wash Mode.”
The update now also allows drivers to switch from a battery percentage to distance usage as needed, while a new hotspot feature has also been added to allow people to use their cars as giant WiFi networks.

“To remain connected to Wi-Fi when shifting into gear, tap the Wi-Fi icon > Wi-Fi Settings > Remain Connected in Drive. This is especially useful for users who wish to use their hotspots for connectivity.”
Other improvements include three new languages in the form of Hungarian, Romanian, and Russian. Tesla has also made dash cam improvements that allow drivers to launch recordings automatically. Finally, drivers can now also enable and disable auto-dimming mirrors, too.
