HTC HD2 2.01 ROM for T-Mobile US Leaked

We informed you about the new and upcoming T-Mobile US ROM for HTC HD2, which hinted towards a possible US release of the said device. And now it seems like the ROM has been leaked, and is available for download. Beware though as this ROM is for T-Mobile US only and it may have issues working properly with carriers outside United States.

It looks like HTC is set to release a mini variant of HD2 in the first half of 2010. This news comes out through HTC portfolio which has been leaked online via XDA, hinting at a number of Windows Mobile and Android based devices for next year.

Those of you with Windows phones, capable of running Windows Mobile OS can download and install Office Mobile 2010 from Windows Marketplace for Windows Mobile.

International Business Times has made a nice comparison of HTC HD2 and iPhone 3GS by pitting the two in a head to head contest. To some extent, they have been successful in rightly proving that HTC HD2 is far superior to iPhone (in terms of hardware anyway). Different aspects of the two like: size, display, camera & video recording, connectivity and wireless connection, OS, processor, music and video, keyboard, storage and memory, power and battery, Price tags and browsing have been compared. The final verdict shows that HD2 wins in 8, where as iPhone in 1, and there are ties on 4 other aspects.

HTC has finally, in an official announcement unveiled its long awaited high-end mobile device called HTC HD2 which was previously codenamed as Leo. HTC HD2 is powered by Microsoft's newly released Windows Mobile 6.5 and will be the first Windows phone to feature multi-touch support through HTC Sense (aka HTC TouchFLO 3D 2.5) which up till now was only available on the company's Android-based handsets like HTC Hero.

The Mozilla Foundation has just released a new version of Firefox, codenamed Fennec for all Windows Phones running Windows Mobile 6.0 or later. The main focus of Fennec is to bring decent desktop browser like functionality to Windows Mobile devices which are currently lacking a browser like Safari is for iPhone.

Just found this hands-on video of a Windows Phone via The Inquirer which is said to be running the final version of Windows Mobile 6.5 on HTC Touch Diamond2. The new Windows Mobile 6.5 home screen with Zune-like interface is optimized for touch-screens and includes an improved UX, making it easier to take action with a finger.

Kudos to Da_G, a member of XDA-Developers Forum who has made this possible by porting it from a leaked Rom of the upcoming HTC Mega phone.
