We are coming to the end of the Christmas period which generally means that pockets are empty, credit cards are at the limit and households contain a large number of happy people who have been on the receiving end of some generous gifts. Another day, another iOS 5 tweak and this time it is the turn of developer Fr0zen Sun to release his latest tweak to the growing number of jailbroken iOS 5 users. Apple's launch of Siri certainly made people sit up and take notice. There had been voice recognition and dictation apps before, even Siri in its earliest incarnation was a standalone app that offered some of the features we all now take for granted from our iPhone 4S devices.
The Android versus iOS debate will never end. The two operating systems have their die hard fans who will argue until they are blue in the face about why their chosen OS is better than its rivals. No matter which side of the fence you sit on, I'm sure any reasonable person can concede that each operating system has its plus points.
We’ve seen facial recognition technology before as an optional tweak for the jailbroken iPhone. It never really took off; the interface was clunky and it was hit or miss. According to a patent filed by Apple, it may now be an official feature for the next lineup of iPhones and iPads.
