Microsoft has been on the Web for 20 years, and to celebrate, has given us a throwback in the form of its first ever live webpage. As you'd expect, it looks more than antiquated, and as well as demonstrating how far things have come along both in terms of design and the complexities of the Web through the past two decades, makes us feel incredibly grateful that we don't have to see sights, or sites, like it anymore.
Forrest Gump, which stars Hollywood legend Tom Hanks, is one of those movies that almost everybody has seen. But while we collectively appreciate the heart-warming storyline, it doesn't strike us as the kind of flick that should be turned into a mobile game. Sure, most new movies are now arriving with a supplementary title - usually by Gameloft - to enhance the overall experience and sense of excitement, but Forrest Gump? Really?
Just now, wireless charging seems to be the subject of much blogosphere coverage, and given the inroads being made from Qi's resonance charging solutions to the very exciting-looking uBeam, it mightn't be long before we're all ditching those cables for good. The deal that saw Apple acquire Beats Electronics was one of the biggest stories so far this year. Sure, we were flabbergasted by Facebook's $16 billion purchase of WhatsApp, partially because of the sheer amount of money changing hands, but given the Cupertino company’s conservative spending habits, this one came a little out of the blue. Apple has consistently stayed away from big-money buyouts, and the decision to snap up the Dr. Dre-founded company also signaled the first time that the Mac maker opened its wallet for a well-known company. Now, with the $3 billion agreement having been given the rubber stamp of approval, Beats has been given its own special space on the Apple retail site, where you might find headphones, speakers, and… oh - more headphones.
Apple has just made available a new version of iTunes for Mac OS X and Windows, with bug fixes the order of the day. More details on what’s new and where to download it from can be found right here.
