OnePlus 8 / 8 Pro Is Official Featuring 120Hz Screen And More With Price Touching iPhone 11 Territory

After teasing it for what might have felt like forever, OnePlus has now taken the wraps off the OnePlus 8 Pro, a phone that has had plenty of expectation surrounding it. Now it’s here we finally know what it has to offer. And it’s plenty.

We also know the price. More on that later.

As for what you’ll get, this is a typical OnePlus phone in that it has all of the specs you’d expect. Especially given its premium standing. That means there’s the Snapdragon 865 processor and a 6.78-inch QHD+ display that boasts an impressive 120Hz refresh rate. That should mean animations and transitions are plenty smooth, assuming you’re someone who benefits from those kinds of things.

This thing also comes with four rear-facing cameras. Because that’s what phones do, now.

  1. A 48-megapixel main camera.
  2. A 48-megapixel ultra wide camera.
  3. A color filter camera.
  4. A 3x telephoto camera.

All of that, we’re told, means you can expect better images out of this phone than anything OnePlus has been able to manage thus far. Early reviews seem to back that up, but with nobody really able to go outside to take proper test shots, we’ll reserve judgment for now.

Color options include black, green, and blue and, of course, there’s 5G on T-Mobile and Verizon in the United States. Although whether that’s a thing you’re interested in will probably depend on which street corner you happen t0 live.

The OnePlus 8 Pro goes on sale on April 29 in the United States with a starting price of $899 for a model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Got the whole hog and $999 gets you 12GB of RAM and doubles the storage to 256GB, too.

OnePlus of course has also launched cheaper non-Pro OnePlus 8 model which is basically a follow up to OnePlus 7T. While it has same processor as the Pro variant, the different mainly lies in the screen size and quality as well as the cameras.

You can check the specs comparison between the two below.

The cheaper non-Pro OnePlus 8 will start at $699 for the base 8GB RAM 128GB storage model.

This will be the first time OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will be sold as fully unlocked phones on Amazon in the US from April 29.
