Nomad Launches Tesla Model 3 Wireless Charger For iPhone X, 8, Other Qi-Ready Devices

If you’re a Tesla Model 3 owner who wants to wirelessly charge your iPhone, then you’re in luck because Nomad today announced a new wireless charging accessory that has been specifically designed to be used in Tesla’s newest car. Dubbed the Tesla Wireless Charger, the dock is designed for use with the iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus although it will obviously work with future iPhones that support wireless charging.

In fact, thanks to the Qi standard, it will charge any compatible device, too.

Designed to sit perfectly in the Model 3’s dash, the charger connects to the car’s two USB ports and has two wireless charging elements built in. That means that it is capable of charging two smartphones at the same time and as a result, means that both the driver and their passenger need never run out of juice. The use of those two ports also means that the charger offers 2A for faster 7.5W charging, too.

Also built into the charger is a non-slip pad that will prevent the phones from sliding around as well as LEDs that will keep users informed as to whether their device is fully charged or not. Interestingly, there will also be spacers included in the box that will allow the charger to be used with smaller phones, preventing them from moving around when being charged.

Nomad is selling the Tesla Wireless Charger for $150 currently, although anyone ordering from the Nomad website as of today can get a $20 discount. Nomad expects to be able to shop the Tesla Wireless Charger starting on September 1st. If you’re a Model 3 owner, or indeed if you have one on order, this could be the perfect accessory for your car.
