iPhone 9 Will Be 2020 ‘iPhone SE’; Colors, Specs, Price Leaked Ahead Of Imminent Release

The rumored iPhone 9 is a device that has been in the cards for a long time, but every time we think we’ve nailed down a launch window, it comes and goes with nothing announced. Recent rumors had the phone launching today, but that didn’t happen.

But those same rumors had other interesting information to share, too.

According to 9to5Mac we can expect the iPhone 9 to be announced imminently, but it won’t be called that after all. The phone will instead be the latest to use the name iPhone SE, replacing the popular 4-inch handset by the same name. That should also further cement the belief that it will sell for around $400.

The phone itself will look very much like an iPhone 8 including the 4.7-inch LCD screen and a Touch ID-equipped Home button. We should also expect it to come in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB configurations.

As for colors, 9to5Mac reckons that Black, White, and PRODUCT (RED) will be on offer although there will be plenty of first-party cases on offer for those who want to change how it looks. Those include Black and White Silicone Cases as well as Red, Black, and Midnight Blue leather options.

As for the price, it is expected to carry a retail tag of around $399, with iPhone 8 priced at $449.

A ton of that makes plenty of sense, now we just need the phone to be announced. There have been rumors that Apple intends to announce it in the third week of April, although that is far from confirmed at this point. No matter when it arrives, we’ll have all the info when it’s available.
