iOS 13, watchOS 6, macOS 10.15 Features Leaked: Here’s Everything You Need To Know

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has long had sources inside Apple, and he brought them to bear again earlier today when sharing a whole host of the company’s plans for this year’s WWDC event. WWDC kicks off on June 3rd, and Gurman has today given us more than a glimpse at what iOS 13, watchOS 6, and macOS 10.15 will include.

Despite offering a disclaimer that Apple’s plans are always fluid, a lot of what is here has been rumored in other smaller reports in recent months.

Seeing it all in one place, apparently corroborated by a source inside Apple, gives us further hope that the year’s round of operating system updates will be pretty special.

Starting out with iOS 13, the report has much of what we’ve been hearing about before today. That includes a new Dark Mode that can be flicked on and off at will, and updated first-party apps including Reminders, Messages, and Books. A revamped Health app is also in the works, making it easier than ever to see health information including new metrics surrounding sleep.

The reminders app is also set to receive a sizable upgrade across both iOS and macOS, with a new grid layout featuring tasks that are due today, tasks that are scheduled, tasks that are flagged, and more. All of this will make the Reminders app more useful to those who need something more capable than that which is currently available.

The Apple Watch is going to get some new toys thanks to watchOS 6, too. The biggest news here is an on-device App Store, allowing apps to be installed without an iPhone. That’s all-new, as will be a new calculator and health apps that are designed to help people track their medication and menstrual cycles. Support for listening to audiobooks via Apple Books will also be built in, according to the report.

Moving on to the Mac, one of the biggest features will be the screen extension feature that was rumored recently. That will allow users of iPads to extend their Mac displays onto their tablet, making Apple Pencil support particularly interesting for use with Mac apps. There’s also new multitasking features on the way, and much, much more.
