DXOMark Ranks iPhone 13 Camera Higher Than iPhone 12 Pro

We’ve seen reports of how the iPhone 13 Pro’s camera is a significant upgrade over last year’s iPhone 12 Pro. But what if we tell you that the dual-lens iPhone 13 surpasses the 12 Pro?

According to DXOMark, the iPhone 13 ranks better than the iPhone 12 Pro, scoring 138 in the Photo test, and a 117 in the video test. This brings the iPhone 13 to a total score of 130.

In hindsight, the iPhone 13 Pro managed a score of 137 which helped it rank as the 4th best overall smartphone camera. The iPhone 13 now ranks in at the 11th position.

In the camera department, the iPhone 13 cannot offer a dedicated tele module but comes with several improvements over last year’s generation. The new primary module uses the same size sensor as last year’s top-of-the-line iPhone 12 Pro Max and there is now Dual-Pixel autofocus instead of PDAF. Light is channeled through an f/1.6-aperture lens and a sensor-shift stabilization system is keeping things steady. The primary module is accompanied by an ultra-wide camera that features the same tech specs as on the iPhone 12 generation.

The iPhone 12 Pro managed an overall score of 128, where it scored 137 in the photo test losing to the iPhone 13 by just one point.

Needless to say that the iPhone 13 mini also manages to one up the iPhone 12 Pro since the mini packs the same camera module and features as the 13.
