Download: watchOS 8 Beta 1, tvOS 15 Beta 1 Released To Developers

You can now download watchOS 8 beta 1 for Apple Watch and tvOS 15 beta 1 for Apple TV, assuming you have the required developer profiles installed, of course.

Apple only just got done showing us what the 2021 lineup of software updates will have to offer but the beta programs are already getting into gear. Developers can now download watchOS 6 beta 1 and tvOS 15 beta 1. So long as they do the right thing and install them on a spare device, that is.

Apple’s new developer betas mean we’re going to learn more about the new software updates than Apple was able to squeeze into the WWDC opening keynote. That’s a good thing, too, with both updates already looking like they could be pretty sweet. There tends to be some features that didn’t make it into the keynote as well and we can’t wait to see what they are.

Developers can download the required beta profiles from the Apple Developer Center and get the ball rolling. Remember though, these betas are exactly that and beta 1 is often even more scary than later releases. We would always suggest installing Apple’s beta releases on devices that are dedicated to the purpose of testing. Who knows what kinds of bugs we’re going to deal with here.

Don’t worry if you aren’t a developer, though. Apple will likely follow its recent form and make a public beta available eventually. When that will be however, nobody knows. It likely depends on how stable the early developer betas are and, if any previous experience is a guide, they won’t be very stable at all!
