Download: iOS 14 Public Beta 4 OTA Profile Released For Everyone To Try

You can now download iOS 14 public beta 4 and iPadOS 14 public beta 4 as an OTA update so long as you have the correct public beta profile installed. Here are the details on the release.

Apple released the fourth developer beta of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 just a couple of days ago and, following its usual pattern, has now also made the public beta versions of the same updates available to everyone.

Apple tends to keep the public beta back a couple of days to make sure that there aren’t any huge bugs in play. It’s one thing breaking developer devices, but breaking devices belonging to customers is a whole different thing altogether. Hence, the delay.

Now that the update is here, what can you expect? Apart from all of the iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 features that we’ve already spoken about, there are some new changes in this release especially.

The first of those is a new Apple TV widget that shows you what’s coming up in your favorite shows. There have been some search improvements as well, with Spotlight surfacing different types of information in a new order.

Those with iPhones that support 3D Touch will notice that it is once again available after being removed in iOS 14’s earlier betas, and Apple’s Exposure Notification API is present for the first time in iOS 14, too.

Like all other betas, we’d suggest only installing if you’re sure you can cope with your device misbehaving. Still, the iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 betas have been fairly solid so far.
