Luxury brand company Caviar, based in Russia, has announced that it will be selling a custom edition of Apple’s AirPod Max over-ear headphones adorned in pure gold.

If Apple’s version isn’t rich enough for you, then Caviar has just the customization at a cost of $108,000.

Russia-based Caviar is known for making luxurious – and ridiculously expensive – versions of well-known technology-based gadgets. Most recently, Caviar has been touting a custom version of Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro smartphone with claims that each hand-made version includes a part of the Apple I’s circuit board. Whether that is actually true or not is another story entirely but this AirPods Max variant takes things to another extreme when you consider the cost.

For a single payment of just $108,000, those with more money-than-sense will be able to purchase the AirPods Max made from pure gold and crocodile leather:

The Airpods Max Golden White are the luxury version of Apple’s loudest new release. Brilliant high pure sound from Caviar jewelers.

This precious accessory is made of 750 gold and white crocodile leather. It is impossible to look away from this innovative and splendid device created for those who value their uniqueness and want to always be on top.

Airpods Max Golden White looks elegant, emphasizing the status of the owners and their impeccable taste.

From a materials perspective, the listing outlines 750 gold in 18-carats, black or white crocodile skin, and two 18-carats gold rings with a unique Caviar inscription. We can’t say that these headphones are “one-of-a-kind” simply because anyone with who has the good fortune to have this amount of disposal money can actually purchase a pair but you’re unlikely to run into someone else at your kid’s school who is rocking these!

One important thing to note here is that you will not be paying for any audio or technical improvement. The customization is entirely aesthetic, which means that the $108,000 AirPods Max will sound just like any other set of headphones of that same type that you can purchase directly from Apple.
