Here at Redmond Pie we are always on the lookout for the latest and greatest innovations to land in Cydia. Innovation doesn't always mean inventing something entirely new, which is why we brought some early news of the soon-to-be released Control Unlocker package a couple of days ago. That package has now been officially launched and is available to download immediately from the BigBoss repository. More details can be found right after the break.
iMessage, Apple's cross device messaging service for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac, has been a relative success since first appearing with iOS 5 and subsequently, OS X Lion. Yet like most fledgling services, it has had its fair share of teething issues, with a notable lack of proper blocking / reporting feature in place for spam messages. iOS 7 will allow users to block Apple IDs causing offence as we already know, but now, the Cupertino has also rolled out a nifty spam reporting feature enabling users to take action against any kind of intrusive or otherwise unwanted behavior.
A new tweak on Cydia, which, simply put, allows you to add a variety of cool effects to your wallpaper. It works for both the lock screen and home screen, and with plenty of effects to select from, is very thorough in its offering. It costs just 99 cents, and we've all the details after the break!
Samsung has made two new Galaxy S4 ads available on YouTube before, presumably, putting them on every TV channel on the planet. If there's one thing Samsung knows how it do, it's blanket advertising. Check out the ads right after the jump!
Arguably a week late due to Apple’s developer portal security breach and then that portal subsequently being offline for far, far too long, iOS 7 beta 4 is now finally in the hands of developers. Three weeks after the third beta was pushed out, this new fourth iteration brings with it the usual raft of interface changes as well as some tweaks under the hood. I've been using it for a good few hours at this point, and following on from my previous posts along the same vein, here's how beta 4 is shaping up in these early hours after I updated my iPhone 5.
One of the so-called "killer" new features of the upcoming iPhone has frequently been suggested as a fingerprint sensor, which would be somehow integrated into the home button and would offer added security whether shopping or unlocking. Although we did catch wind of a patent suggesting iPhone 5S fingerprint sensor would instead be integrated into the display rather than the home button, the new iOS 7 beta 4 seems to have slipped that the initial notion may instead be true.
There's not much more boring when it comes to iOS devices, or indeed any smartphone or tablet, than having to enter a PIN code to unlock them. Unfortunately, for some at least, they can be a necessary evil. Whether it be to stop work colleagues from posting vaguely humorous comments to Facebook, or to make sure that your company's secrets are safe, PIN codes can often be one of the most important security measures at our disposal.
Apparently, the download links of iOS 7 Beta 4 are already up ahead of official release on the Dev Center.
Casual gaming has taken off to be one of the biggest things that nobody thought would ever happen. Gone are the days where the only video game you could play had to be in front of a TV, connected to a system with zero portability. Mobile games are one of the driving forces for procrastination, but let's face it, most mobile games suck for actual gaming. Touch-screen devices are perfect for one-touch controlled puzzlers such as Temple Run, or Angry Birds, but don't perform as well when an analogue axis and buttons are slapped onto the screen.
For years, analysts, commentators and general tech fans have discussed the idea of Apple bringing a budget iPhone to the fore, but only this year does it finally appear as though such a device has a real chance of making its long-awaited debut. Talk has been particularly rife over the past three or four weeks, with several leaks of the supposed front and rear panels having surfaced throughout the blogosphere, and taking into consideration the current rumor and speculation, T3 has come up with a particularly beautiful 3D render.
