How To Add An App Launcher On iOS 7 Lock Screen

Ben Reid·January 25, 2014
The jailbreak tweaks are arriving thick and fast, particularly those of the lock screen variety. We've already featured several tweaks offering iOS users different ways to modify the lock screen, and AppBox by developer Jacob Caraballo is easily the most powerful we've seen hitherto. Not only does it allow you to jump straight into any app without unlocking your device, but by enabling the App View feature and holding icons of certain apps, you can also activate their plugins.

How To Make iOS 7 Automatically Change Lock Screen Wallpaper Every Time You Lock Your iPhone

Ben Reid·January 25, 2014
If you're quite fussy about how your iPhone looks, you'll no doubt have spent much of the past few weeks taking advantage of the Evasi0n jailbreak and all of the tweaks available as a result. But for some, the process of changing things around is ongoing, and even something as simple as altering the wallpaper can often take time as you scan through your collection seeking something that looks just right. Thanks to a new tweak called shufflr, though, your iOS lock screen's wallpaper is switched to a new image every time you lock your device, lessening the likelihood of you getting bored with the same look.

How To Give iOS 7 Lock Screen A Minimalistic Makeover

Ben Reid·January 24, 2014
The lock screen is the first port of call on almost any mobile device, and since iOS users don't really get to change much other than the wallpaper at stock level, it's no wonder that the recent jailbreak has seen Cydia inundated with lock screen-based mods for eager iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users to enjoy. With the all-in-one Springtomize 3 for iOS 7 on its way for those looking to tweak their home screens, SubtleLock (iOS 7) offers something similar for the lock screen. Although it's not quite as extensive, it allows you to downscale and recolor certain aspects for a truly minimalistic approach, and if you prefer the understated look, this one's definitely for you.

Ben Reid·January 24, 2014
Keeping abreast of your contacts can be a tedious and ongoing task, particularly when you've accumulated more than you care to maintain, but it doesn't have to be such a nightmare. A tweak by the name of QuickContacts, created by developer DarkMalloc, enables you to access your favorite contacts right from your home screen by making a simple swiping gesture, so if you just want to make a quick call to a close friend or relative, you needn't have to go through the tiresome rigmarole of scanning and searching your digital phone book.

How To Add Unicode Faces Keyboard To iOS 7

Ben Reid·January 23, 2014
iOS may pack a decent amount of emoticons by default, but online, you might have caught wind of the latest craze in self-expression - unicode faces. Using all manner of strange characters, people have been coming up with some pretty humorous faces, and if this kind of thing floats your boat, then the fact that you can add them to your iOS keyboard (provided that you're jailbroken) should put a smile, or rather, a (◕ ◡ ◕) on your face. Check out the new UniFaces jailbreak tweak, which lets you do exactly this, after the leap!

How To Get Full Control Of Your iPhone’s Push Notifications In iOS 7

Paul Morris·January 23, 2014
Depending on who you speak to, push notifications can either be a life-saver or work of pure evil. There is an extremely large mobile device user base that simply can’t live without notifications no matter how hard they try. Conversely, there is also a set of users who receive so many text messages, emails and social network alerts that it becomes a full-time job to keep up with the incoming notifications that are generated on a per app basis. The Notification Privacy tweak that has recently landed on Cydia offers jailbroken users the opportunity to take control of those push notifications by devising a setup that suits the individual.

Springtomize 3 For iOS 7 Release Teased By Developer

Ben Reid·January 23, 2014
Sure, after years in existence, the jailbreak scene has grown and expanded to the point where Cydia harbors thousands of useful, enhancing tweaks for iOS-lovers far and wide. But only an elite few have grown to become part of the furniture as fair as jailbreakers are concerned, and along with the likes of BiteSMS and the now somewhat unneeded SBSettings (thanks, Control Center), Springtomize has grown to become the ultimate all-in-one hub for those looking to mod and theme the look and feel of iOS. Now, the guy behind it, Filippo Bigarella, has revealed that an iOS 7-tailored Springtomize 3 is on the horizon, and if it can continue in the same vein as the two versions preceding, jailbreak lovers are in for quite a treat.

Enhance iOS Screenshot Taking Ability With ClipShot

Ben Reid·January 23, 2014
The screenshot feature of iOS is fairly easy to use. You hold the Home button and the sleep button simultaneously, and voilà, your screenshot is saved to the Camera Roll. The only real caveat with this, is that you can only save it to your Camera Roll. Sometimes, there's a good reason for screen-shotting things, but they tend to be a short-term requirement and, when going back through your weird and wonderful images, those old screen captures have accumulated to little more than spam. Luckily, a new tweak named ClipShot alleviates this problem, and you can catch the details of how it works right after the leap.
