Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro lineup is expected to introduce vapor chamber cooling technology, aiming for better heat management and performance, according to Chinese leaker Instant Digital.
While many premium Android smartphones already use this cooling system, Apple has so far avoided it.
Vapor chamber technology helps spread heat evenly across the device, reducing thermal throttling and ensuring consistent performance, which is especially important for slim and powerful devices like the iPhone.
Rumors about Apple adopting vapor chamber cooling started earlier this year when Chinese site MyDrivers claimed that the entire iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, would feature the upgrade. However, Instant Digital now reports that it will be limited to the Pro models.
These devices will run on Apple’s A19 Pro chip, which, when combined with improved cooling, should prevent performance drops even under heavy usage. “The A19 Pro’s advanced thermal system ensures high performance with minimal throttling,” said the leaker.
As for the front design, don’t expect any major changes. Instant Digital dismissed rumors about a redesigned dynamic island or slimmer bezels, saying, “This year’s focus is on internal improvements and the back of the device.”
Apple hasn’t officially confirmed these details, but if true, the iPhone 17 Pro series could deliver better cooling and sustained performance while keeping the same front design.
