The next-generation iPhone, which the tech world has presumptuously dubbed the "iPhone 5" is purported to be releasing in the next couple of months, and although there has been plenty of speculation with regards to new features, one that has always seemed a certainty is the implementation of 4G LTE.
It’s certainly not as popular as social networks and services like Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr, but Pinterest has a massive following and huge traffic, being ranked 38th in Alexa’s world’s most traffic-heavy websites. It’s a pinboard-style photo sharing website where users can share images of their interests, hobbies, they can go through other user’s profiles and re-pin their items on their own profile much like the re-blog feature on Tumblr.
The London 2012 Olympics have officially been brought to an end, and after fifteen days of non-stop games and athletes from all over the world competing against each other in various sports, we all have our own favorite memory from the games. Even though the Olympics contain a wide range of sports - historically speaking - it is always the short athletic events that manage to raise the pulses of those who are sitting in the stadium or watching the event from the outside on the television. Over the years, we have seen some phenomenal athletes competing in the 100 and 200m sprints including Linford Christie, Maurice Greene, Donovan Bailey, Tyson Gay and the current fastest man on the planet Usain Bolt.
Considering it has been bubbling away and growing in size for the last eighteen months, it is going to be extremely interesting to see how the Apple vs. Samsung patent case progresses and ultimately pans out. It appears that both sides have fairly credible evidence to present to Judge Lucy Koh and the selected jury, but one of the most interesting parts of the case from an outsider’s point of view is the level of information that the companies have been forced to leak into the public domain as part of their own defense.
We all know how huge the gaming industry has become over the last few years with gaming giants like Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo managing to command most of the hardware attention with their next-generation consoles such as the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo's Wii. Getting involved and playing video games is sometimes way more than a hobby to some people, and with the advancements in technology, gaming titles are becoming more and more synonymous with real life.
The courtroom battle between Apple and Samsung has garnered much media attention over the past few months, with the Cupertino company accusing its Korean rival of "slavishly" copying the designs of both the iPhone and iPad in order to create its Galaxy mobile device range.
As much as we are all looking forward to seeing what Apple has produced with the aesthetics of the next-generation iPhone, as well as finding out exactly what they have in store for us regarding device technical specifications, the already-committed amongst us are just waiting to find out when we can get our hands on the new piece of kit. As an iPhone owner from day one, my mind is already made up about the sixth-generation iteration and I will most certainly be adding it to my growing collection of Apple hardware. The only question remaining is; when?
Remember, two days ago, when we published a post on an entire image gallery of a dozen or so leaked “new iPhone” parts? Well, quite a few of these parts were beyond this writer’s understanding; things like Power / Reaction Flexes made no sense to me.
As we move closer to the middle of August, and approximately four weeks away from the date that is said to hold the Apple media event which will introduce the world to the next-generation iPhone, we still haven't had any official word from the Cupertino giants that the event is taking place. Regardless of the lack of public interaction over the event, we stand firm in our belief that September 12th will be the day when we find out the official specifications and visuals of the new iPhone, with possible public availability being around September 21st.
As the release date of the new iPhone draws near, it isn't just the hardcore Apple or technology fan that is waiting to get their hands on said device. Spare a thought for those hardworking iOS developers who spend most of their days lovingly crafting fantastic and beautiful apps that make our iPhone experience all it can be. Keep those developers in your mind when Apple releases the new iPhone with the purported larger display that wreaks havoc on apps that have been designed to look stunning on the existing Retina display.
