MacRumors has got hold of parts of LCD assembly which is claimed to be from the upcoming 4th-generation iPod touch. The bezel over the front-LCD has a hole in the top center which is most likely going to be for a front-facing camera for making FaceTime video calls across all iOS devices. The rumors of the iPod touch getting a camera soon are catching fire everyday. Different sources are convinced that the new iPod touch for sure will get this major refresh this fall. A new illustration of the next-gen iPod touch has just popped up today which shows it in a clear case, along with what appears to be a camera with LED flash on the backside.
Apple today has confirmed to CNET that they have investigated the exploit used by JailbreakMe 2.0 and that they have already developed a fix for it which will be released in a form of new firmware update soon. The spokeswomen of Apple though didn’t give any specific release date as to when will it be pushed, but knowing Apple, it wouldn’t be too long before it is released for all iOS devices.
As promised, the iPhone Dev-Team has released the carrier unlocking tool called Ultrasn0w for US based iPhone 4 users who are stuck with AT&T network. For those of you who don’t know, carrier unlock for US iPhone 4s required complete rewrite of ultrasn0w software because of the new baseband OS present in iPhone 4.
Apple has just pushed iOS 4.1 Beta 3 to the developers for all iPhones and iPod touches. This beta build, like all the previous betas is meant for developers only. Only members enrolled in the iPhone Developer Standard or Enterprise Program can access these bits of by signing into Apple Developer Connection.

The iPhone Dev-Team (Comex) has released JailbreakMe 2.0 (aka Star) which can jailbreak all iOS devices on their latest respective firmware like iOS 4.0 / 4.0.1. This does not work with iOS 4.1 Beta release. Since JailbreakMe 2.0 is a userland jailbreak, what this means is that you run it right in your iOS Safari browser to jailbreak the device. It cant get simpler than that !
Last month in a special iPhone 4 centric press conference, Steve Jobs defended iPhone 4 antenna issue by comparing it with some of the other popular handsets having the same problem. The key point which Apple wanted everyone to know was that this so called “attenuation” problem is not limited to iPhone 4 only.
